Flag Varsity Football Team News

Wow, the Cardiac Kids pulled out a thrilling 6 to 0 overtime victory over the very tough Western Wildcats on the last play of overtime. Once again, the defense, which consisted of Noah and Spencer at the corners (great job boys), Kendrick (at least 2 flag pulls for a loss), Daniel (numerous flag pulls), Kyle, Hayden, Evan, Reid and Lachlan on the line, Ethan, Nikos, Liam, Sean and Thomas at linebacker and Lemontre and Bryce at safety, shut down a good offense. The swarming defense was just too much for the Wildcats. Wherever they went, they were met by numerous Redskins. It was difficult to see who made many of the flag pulls since there were so many boys around the ball carrier. The offense drove to the one foot line on its first possession on great runs by Bryce and Lemontre, but did not score. The offense ran out of time on two other possessions, but was moving the ball behind the Wild Boars, which consisted of Ethan at WR, Hayden (great job at tight end), T.K., Daniel, Carter, Lachlan, Reid, Sam D., Sam J. and Kyle. Bryce completed a long pass to Lemontre to end the half. Hayden also added some nice runs in the second half. In overtime, the defense pushed Western backward. When the Redskins got the ball this time, they were all business. Nice runs by Lemontre and Bryce put the ball on the one foot line. This time, the Wild Boars would not be denied. They pushed the entire Western defense, their head coach, the officials 5 yards and anyone else in their way into the end zone to pave the way for Bryce's winning touchdown. Great game boys.
