!!!!!!!!!GAME WEEK!!!!!!!!!!!! The first games of the seasons will start this Saturday, September 4th. This will be only for METRO teams. GRIDIRON teams will begin their games next week on Saturday, September 11th. No game schedules have been posted for Gridiron at this time. For those of you who are new to METRO football and cheerleading, Saturday game days are exciting and hectic, but always a thrill to finally see how far your child and his or her team have progressed after three weeks of long, hot nightly practices! Games are always played in a specific order, but other than flag jv at 8:00 a.m. and juniors at 9:00 a.m. it's virtually impossible to predict the exact time of your child's game. Coaches are going to ask your child to be at the field at least 1 - 1 1/2 hours prior to their anticipated game time. The reasons for this are simply 1) they need time to warm up 2) they must check in as a team at half time of the prior game if they want to be eligible to play 3)as we have stated, there is no way to predict how long or short the game prior to theirs has been. We will try and update the website and hotline when we have home games to let you know how the games are progressing during the day. We are also hoping that our new text messaging capability will allow us to update you, especially for those games played later in the day if we know that games are running either extremly early or extremely late.
