WELCOME TO THE 2011 FOOTBALL SEASON!!!

Game #8:  Kanawha Beats Western 12 to 6!

The Flag Varsity came out to play today!  We came from behind in the second half to score the winning touchdown.  A long touchdown run by Preston Hudak got us started!  This was made possible by great blocking on the offensive line by Cooper Robison, Parker Jones, Parker Shepherd, Riley Hongchat and Rayden Nay.  The defense kept us in the game with some great saves by Preston Hudak, Braden Piersol, Ben Joynt, Zion Green, Alexander Macturk, Matthew McCabe, Cooper Robison and Caelan Funk.  Caelan had at least four flag pulls this game!  The offense marched down the field for our second touchdown.  Reuben MacEachern, Cameron Fowlkes and Seth Holtz all had great runs!  Way to go fellas!  Super win!

Games in the middle... 

We had some tough losses this season.  Despite the scores, our kids played amazingly well and they held their heads high.  Each and every child did their jobs and gave 100%.  We are all so proud of you FLAG VARSITY!

Game #3:  Kanawha Redskins vs. Blue Star Cowboys

The Flag Varsity had a tough time against the Cowboys disciplined offense.  Despite the score, the boys all played well.  Preston Hudak had a beautiful touchdown run for our only points and Reuben McEachern and Cooper Robison both had good catches.  Cameron Fowlkes had a great run as well.  Our defense did a great job this week getting through the line and pulling flags.  Ben Joynt pulled several flags as did Alexander MacTurk, Ethan Poling, Tyler Paulin and Preston Hudak.  One of the game highlights was the interception by Braden Piersol!  Lets get the Ravens next week!

Game #2:  Kanawha Redskins vs. Va. Randolph (21 to 7)

The little Redskins were on fire this weekend!  Both the offense and defense looked amazing.  With two good wins under our belt, we are the team to beat.  We have great passing:  Cooper threw a long Touchdown pass to Reuben McEachern and Reuben and Preston also threw some great passes (one for a two point conversion caught by Cooper Robison in the endzone!)  We also had fabulous runs by Hunter Albertson, Reuben McEachern, Cameron Fowlkes and two touchdwon runs by Preston Hudak (one for 74 yards!)  All of this was made possible by the excellent work on the offensive line.   Matthew Ryder, Parker Jones and Alexander Macturk really held their blocks and did not let the Va Randolph players through.   We have great defense:  Braden Piersol, Austin Werner, Ethan Poling and Zion Green all had great flag pulls.  Seth Holtz and Caelan Funk broke through the line and Brennan Reid led the defense with four flag pulls against Virginia Randolph!  Way to go Redskins.  Keep up the good work!

Game #1:  Kanawha Redskins vs. Goochland Bulldogs (12 to 0)

The Flag Varsity played a great game at home against the Goochland Bulldogs.  Preston Hudak legged out two long runs for touchdowns making the score 12 to 0.  Cooper Robison made a great catch on a two point conversion but just missed the end zone.  Several players made beautiful catches for first downs including Reuben McEarchern, Cameron Fowlkes and Ben Joynt (the Birthday boy!).   Parker Shepherd and Austin Werner led the O line and they were tough.  Seth Hotlz, Hunter Albertson and Reuben McEachern all had super runs.    All of this was made possible by the excellent defensive line.  They held tough the entire game and great plays were made by Will Miller, Parker Jones and Matthew McCabe.  Braden Peirsol made more flag pulls than I could count!  Way to go Redskins!
